Melissa Dominguez is a passionate advocate for women, making a real difference at NC State and in the Raleigh community. As president of Women in Landscape Architecture, she spearheaded a $10,000 scholarship to support women in the field. As vice president of the Student Parent Association, she successfully campaigned for subsidized child care, directly addressing a key barrier for student parents. Dominguez’s commitment extends globally, as demonstrated by her involvement in an international project focused on urban redevelopment in Mexico City. Locally, she’s a dedicated community organizer with Justicia y Esperanza, raising thousands for families in crisis. Her research on Moore Square park, funded by the Landscape Architecture Foundation, highlights how design can improve community well-being. Dominguez’s leadership, service and scholarship clearly demonstrate her commitment to creating inclusive spaces for women.
